Mini Curved Log Cabin

using a jelly roll of a fabric collection
and a honey bun of white.
It triggered a crazy idea...
Why not make this as a MINI or should I say a mini?

I took an Ambroisa jelly roll by Benartex
and pulled out the four pink colored strips;
there were 3 of one pink print, 2 of the other pinks.
And I sliced them lengthwise into 1 1/4" strips.
Then I took a Bella White 98 jelly roll
and sliced about 10 of those into
1" strips.
Was I CRAZY?
The jelly strips were sliced lengthwise into 1 1/4"strips.
The remaining un
used colorways (oranges, blues, and greens) in the jelly roll will have a different life.

The beginnings of the mini log cabin!
Not very straight but fairly cute.

I added each new strip of the log cabin all at once
(in other words, I did not complete one block before starting the next block.)

I clearly did not use the correct ruler
during my initial squaring up efforts because the
centers and first 10 or so strips are wonky.
I later used my fav squaring up ruler:
Elisa's Backporch Designs' Square Me Up
and voila!
I had smashingly excellent and beautifully square blocks!
The first finished block! 5 1/2" square

Wow! Lovely quilt! I need to do this one, too, in Kaffe Fassett reds. Everything i sew is wonky, but you showed me that it all works out.

Thank you! This mini was a challenge for me because of the 1 1/4" and 1" pieces (should have paper pieced it.) But this wkend I made a 68x68 Curved Log Cabin using jelly rolls 2 1/2" and honeybuns 1 1/2" --- easy! What a difference!

Let me know when you have finished your curved log cabin as I would love to see it.
