Another Wedding Quilt for Kelsie and David

The groom's mother, her sisters, her sister-in-law wanted to make David and Kelsie a Queen-sized quilt.  They had no experience making a "real" quilt = pieced, pattern, borders, etc.  "Can you teach us?"

I pulled up Missouri Star Quilt Co tutorials page and they picked MSQC's Jacob's Ladder Remix.

We pulled some blues and a Kona light gray and a chunk of Navy.  We sat on the floor and watched the YouTube of the tutorial many times.  Stopping and restarting it after some discussion.  We cut paper samples and developed the layout and technique.  Then off they went with a mission and a deadline!
I told David's mom to "have some fun" with the back.
She did!

Isn't it funny what a difference a little cloud cover
does to the colors?

Yesterday I set to work to FMQ it.
I little curly for Kelsie, a little angular for David.

The bright sun makes the light gray appear almost white.

Thank you! Standing in front of the quilt I often just know how I want to FMQ it, sometimes it is a work in progress.

Thank you, Maryse! Simple blocks can really shine with 10 jumbo bobbins & top-stitching of great thread. I use Superior Thread's So Fine 50#.

Do you FMQ?
