Fig Tree's Tapestry layer cake and Kona Bone, Stone, and Sand to make HSTs.
3 different light Bella solids for first border, meant to mimic the tone on tones in the HSTs. I was going to use a Tapestry print as a 2nd interior border between the light bordered blocks, but thankfully before I cut into the fabric I saw and was inspired by Square Dance by A Little Bit Biased and voila! Just did a little math to determine the width of the light solid spacers and went to work on it.
Still need to make and add the outer, blocked sashing. And maybe another border or two... But it is almost done.
Stitched together jelly roll strips and 1.5" Bella Solids Porcelain strips to created blocked sashing.

Wow, that really looks great. I'm afraid that "dreaded math" would have given me a hard time, but I guess I would have eventually figured it out. Way to go!!
Thank you!
Regarding the math: You could do it! I knew I would make the squared sashing using Tapestry jelly roll strips cut into 2 1/2" squares (2" finished), so I just sketched out the block and discovered how many light spacers I would need and divided that into the remainder of length.

You should do a pattern for this. It's just beautiful.
Oh my. Thank you. What could be better than a gorgeous collection such as Tapestry by Fig Tree Quilts?
I guess I could try to do a tutorial? I will have to study how others present tutorials. Tremble, tremble.

I love Fig Trees Tapestry! Can't wait to see your finished quilt! It's beautiful so far!

Oh, I really like this a lot! Is this a pattern or just you being super creative? I also like the quilt in the post before this too. Great job! K-
Thank you, Kristy. Well, the initial intention of the quilt was to just do the pinwheels. But the Kona solids I had used did not make the Tapestry "pop!" so then I added the thin light borders. That still wasn't "it" so... as I was reading my bloglovin' feed the next morning I saw a quilt called Square Dance. And knew that was the look I wanted. I did a little sketched out mock up and some rudimentary math and voila!
